According to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH), Energy Therapy involves the use of various types of energy fields. The intention of this therapy is to either bring energy into my patients or to balance the existing energy. While there are many different forms of energy work, such as light, sound, and magnets, I utilize Healing and therapeutic touch which affects energy fields that surround and penetrate the human body.
You may be wondering where this practice came from. The history of these techniques comes from shamanistic practices and Asian traditions from thousands of years ago. More than 2,000 years ago, Asian healers believed that the flow and balance of energies were vital to maintaining health, and illness was due to these energy fields becoming imbalanced. Modern therapies of today are based around the same principals.
I’m sure your next question is “what does it feel like to receive this type of therapy?” That is a great question, but the answer varies depending on the recipient. From my experiences, the result is often a very positive clearing and “shift”. There can be a sense of calm, contentment, accompanied sometimes with a flow of emotions. The therapy itself may feel subtle, but the results can be very profound. Interested in learning more? Reach out and I would love to answer any questions you may have!
